An English teacher dramatically escaped being flogged and maybe lynched for flogging a student after the student's relatives stormed the school and brutalized both teachers and students.

A real drama played out in Accra Newtown of Ghana as machete weilding relatives of a primary 5 pupil of a St. John’s Basic School stormed the school to beat up the teachers and students silly.
According to reports, the relatives stormed the school to take revenge after a teacher from the school flogged the primary 5 pupil.
It was gathered that the student, [name withheld] had walked out of her class when she was canned by her English teacher only to return with her relatives in a revenge attack.
When the angry relatives arrived the school. The female teacher who canned the student could not be found. The angry relatives began beating everybody including teachers and pupils.
One teacher who narrated her ordeal revealed that she was nearly brutalized by the men who were wielding machetes.
“I was there when I saw some machete wielding youth storm the classrooms and started beating teachers and pupils” an eyewitnessed said.
