The Lagos State Government has sealed 12 establishments across different parts of the state over various environmental offences, including noise pollution, air pollution, obstruction of official duties, and persistent failure to comply with environmental regulations.

A statement by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) said the enforcement exercise was carried out on Monday, June 15, 2026, in collaboration with the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI).

The operation, conducted on the directive of the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, forms part of the state government's ongoing efforts to enforce environmental laws and shield residents from environmental disturbances.

According to LASEPA, the affected facilities were sealed only after repeated warnings, abatement notices, and continued disregard for environmental regulations, with the operation targeting establishments found violating environmental standards through excessive noise generation, air pollution, obstruction of enforcement officers, and non-compliance with regulatory directives.

Among the facilities affected was Westgate Arena Club on Apostolic Church Close, Olowora, shut down over persistent noise pollution.

Other establishments sealed during the exercise include Golden Click Hotel on Cados Road, Baruwa, for non-compliance with the agency's directives; 14:02 Lounge and Bar on Command Road, Aralamo Bus Stop, Ipaja, over noise pollution; and the Cherubim and Seraphim Church on Olumuyiwa Jacobs Street, Aguda, Surulere, also for noise pollution.

Kilo Hotel on Adeniyi Adefioye Street, Surulere, was closed for non-compliance, while Max Lounge on Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, was sealed for both noise and air pollution.

The Hotel Macs on Enitan Street, Aguda, was shut for failing to comply with the agency's directives, while Hotel Bel Am on Agbebi Street, Ijesha, was sealed over noise pollution.

Fecomillion Hotel on Salami Bashorun Street, Ijesha, was closed for non-compliance, and PetroSafe Gas Station on Ijesha Road was sealed for obstructing enforcement officers and failing to comply with directives.

Serena Hotel and Suites on Ashoge Street, off Cele Bus Stop, Surulere, was shut down for non-compliance, while CitiLounge on Mobe Street, Ishaga, was sealed over noise pollution.

Gariot, located on Ogunlana Drive, was also affected, having been sealed for obstruction of duty and failure to comply with environmental directives.

Speaking on the exercise, LASEPA's General Manager, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency's commitment to protecting public health and maintaining a clean, safe environment across the state, describing environmental compliance as a collective responsibility that both individuals and corporate organisations must take seriously.

He said LASEPA would continue intensifying enforcement actions against violators to curb environmental nuisances and protect residents from the harmful effects of pollution.

Ajayi urged residents and business owners to adopt environmentally friendly practices and collaborate with regulatory authorities in promoting a cleaner, healthier Lagos, stressing that the agency would continue enforcing environmental standards across the state without compromise.

LASEPA further reiterated its determination to deploy all lawful measures necessary to ensure compliance and build a safer, healthier, and more sustainable environment for residents.
