Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey received a new car as a birthday gift from pastor Jerry Eze on Thursday.
Bassey, who turned 45, said he was left speechless by the surprise, which Eze had arranged secretly with his wife.
The singer shared the news on social media on Friday, saying he had planned a quiet day of thanksgiving to God before discovering the gesture.
Eze reportedly turned down Bassey's wife's initial suggestion for a car and insisted on getting a better one, telling her that his brother could not drive the one she picked.
Bassey described Eze as a remarkably generous person who is currently planning similar surprises for other people.
The singer said the gift did not change how much he loves the pastor but expressed deep gratitude for the joy it brought to him and his family.
"Pastor Jerry, not only has he done this for me.
I know of a couple of other ones like this he is currently planning.
The man gives like his life depends on it," Bassey wrote.
Bassey publicly thanked Eze and asked his followers to join him in showing appreciation to the pastor.
He said that even without the gift, he would love Eze the same way, but was grateful for the surprise and the generosity shown to him.
