The All Progressives Congress in the North Central has resolved to mobilise massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, with the zone aiming to deliver the highest number of votes for him.

APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda announced this at a meeting of North Central stakeholders in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in Abuja.

The meeting included governors, party leaders and government appointees.

He said the zone agreed to overwhelmingly support the President as the party's candidate.

According to him, the six states in the zone will mobilise members and supporters for a mass rally on October 10, 2026, in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The rally is meant to show the zone's support for Tinubu and its plan to deliver a large number of votes.

Yilwatda said the stakeholders also agreed to hold medical outreaches in selected states for poor and vulnerable people.

They will set up a consultation committee to settle grievances within the party and gather support for the President.

He also spoke on disagreements over candidates for elective positions and urged members to back whoever emerges on the party's platform.

He said people should not support candidates only because they like them, but because the party has presented them.

The stakeholders will meet again next week to step up preparations for the Lafia rally.

The meeting followed a presentation by Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Grand Patron of the North Central Grassroots Mobilization Network.

He outlined a three-part plan. It includes the grand rally in Lafia on October 10, a medical outreach in the three senatorial zones of Benue State, and a grassroots advocacy tour with town hall meetings across 19 senatorial districts in the six states and the FCT.

The medical outreach will cover eye screening and treatment, glasses, cataract assessment and selected surgeries, glaucoma screening and diabetic eye screening.

Akume said the network was set up to mobilise votes for the re-election of Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

He said the programme was put together by National Coordinator Sonny Echono and his team and is fully endorsed by the APC National Secretariat.

It is meant to ensure the North Central delivers the highest number of votes from the north in the January 2027 presidential election.
