A massive explosion of high proportion was witnessed yesterday as the dreaded militant group, Niger Delta Avengers bombed NNPC gas pipeline in Akwa Ibom State.

The dreaded Niger Delta Avengers on Sunday, bombed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), gas pipeline at Nsit-Ibom L.G.A, Akwa Ibom state causing massive explosion in the area.

Eyewitness report reveals that the flame of the burning gas pipeline could be seen from many parts of the state due to the extent of the explosion.

Claiming the huge damage, NDA's spokesperson, Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo in a statement said: "11:30pm on Sunday, the NDA blow up Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), gas pipeline at Nsit-Ibom L.G.A, Akwa Ibom state. NNPC should check their pipeline if it's "system Anomaly"."
