A politician has been left humiliated after a woman hoodwinked him and forced him to part with a large sum of money after setting him up.

Kiambu Member of County Assembly, Samuel Mwarage

A Kiambu Member of County Assembly (MCA) on Thursday shocked a courtroom after he narrated how a woman tricked him into her house where he was robbed and forced to take n*de photos, The Kenyans reports.

It was gathered that Mr Samuel Mwarage met the woman by the name Catherine Wanjiku over sale of clothes, then later agreed to visit her house to see the samples.

"It is tormenting. The accused offered to show me samples of dresses she had that I could sell at a boutique I own," he said before Kiambu Principal Magistrate Justus Kituku.

Mr Mwarage said that on reaching the house, three men armed with pangas emerged and accused him of having an illicit affair with a married woman.

One of the attackers is said to have claimed to be Ms Wanjiku's husband and questioned what they were doing together.

The MCA told the court that they were taken to the bedroom, forced to take off their clothes after which the gang began taking their nude photos.

"I was beaten and scratched with a panga on my back, and cut on my right hand while trying to block them," Mwarage said, adding that the attackers threatened to leak the photos to the media.

Mwarage revealed that the woman was neither touched nor hurt and remained unshaken during the whole period. He revealed that the collected Sh100,000 while Wanjiku was left in the bedroom. He added that the three threatened to chop off his genitals if he failed to comply.

Mwarage revealed that he eventually parted with Sh23,000. The gang further forced him to get more money and after making several calls, a friend agreed to send him Sh30,000.

The legislator told the court that Wanjiku remained in the house with the man who claimed to be her husband, while the other two escaped using a getaway vehicle that was waiting outside. He was later rescued by construction workers and immediately reported the matter at Kiambu Police Station after which police officers were sent to the scene.

The officers arrested the woman and a second suspect, Millicent Wairimu, who also arraigned in court on Thursday. The two women denied robbing the legislator and were released on a bond of Sh50,000 each. The hearing of the case will resume on September 9.
