Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State have continued the peaceful protest against the gubernatorial election result that entrenched Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress on the State as the next Governor.
These are some photos of peaceful protesters in Benin City, the Edo State capital this morning, 4th of October, 2016 asking for 'justice' be done in the just conducted gubernatorial election where many observers alleged to have been free and fair.
This is coming after another successful protest against the September 28 governorship election that produced Godwin Obaseki as winner in a heated contest that left their candidate, Pastor Osagie Iyze Iyamu taking the second spot.
An eyewitness who has been following the agitations for the rejection of election results had this to say:
"It seems that PDP supporters have not given up the hope of their candidate winning the just concluded election.They continued with their protest,demanding for the release of 'their real votes' by INEC.They kept saying; "#INECGIVEUSOURRESULT!"
"I don't really think these protests will solve the problem.Let them take it to court!"
