Nigerians React to News of Adeboye Stepping Down as General Overseer of RCCG Nigeria

 

Nigerians home and abroad have taken to social media to react to the shocking news of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye resignation as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria during the church’s annual thanksgiving service.

 

Adeboye revealed that a new General Overseer will overseer the church in Nigeria while he remains the leader in the RCCG worldwide organization. He will be succeeded by a 74-year-old clergyman, Pastor Joseph Obayemi, 

 

Obayemi was deputy in charge of Finance and a member of the governing council before his appointment. Adeboye said the decision was as a result of Federal Government's new rule.
