Police have arrested two alleged kidnappers in connection to the abduction of a 70-year-old woman in Ondo.

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two middle-aged men for their alleged involvement in the kidnap of a 70-year-old woman identified as Victoria Jimba on August 30, 2017.
Madam Jimba was allegedly abducted by a gang of kidnappers in Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, while going to church early morning.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, the suspects are Idowu Olorunfemi and Olopade Waheed.
The police spokesman said the elderly woman was later released by her abductors a few days after, adding that he was not aware if ransom was paid by her family.
While parading the suspects in Akure, Ondo State on Thursday, the PPRO said the other members of the gang had yet to be arrested, assuring that police are on their trail.
Joseph said, “After the report of the kidnap of the 70-year-old woman was made to us, we quickly commenced action and after a discreet investigation and intelligence gathering, the suspects were arrested.
“The phone they used to demand the ransom were also recovered from them. We are making frantic efforts to arrest the fleeing members of the gang. “
