What do women really want in bed? A ripped muscular man? A well endowed lover? Actually, ladies are looking for something much more simple.

 

The easiest way to increase a woman’s pleasure in the bedroom is to cuddle her after sex.

 

Spooning after the act is one of the easiest ways to keep her coming back for more, according to a recent survey from the Sex Information and Education Council of Canada and Trojan condoms.

The study, which is set to be published in scientific journals, asked 2,400 Canadians about the last time they had sex.

 

Women who were cuddled for six to 10 minutes afterwards were much more likely to say they enjoyed the experience.

 

In fact, a whopping 71% of those who had a post-sex snuggle said the overall experience was “very pleasurable.”

Comparatively, only 41% of women who were cuddled for less than six minutes said they enjoyed the sex session.

 

It turns out post-sex intimacy is just as important to women’s pleasure as foreplay, says study author Robin Milhausen, Ph.D., a professor of human sexuality at the University of Guelph.

 

That may be because women’s (and men’s) bodies are flooded with oxytocin – the bonding hormone – after sex, making them crave more affection.

 

Also, women can feel vulnerable straight after the deed, so cuddling is a great way to reassure her that you care.

“It’s one of the easiest things you can do to improve your relationship,” Robin told Men’s Health. “It’s a really important, but often missed, opportunity for connection.”

 

However, most people who took part in the study fell short of the six-minute snuggle and 17% didn’t cuddle at all.

 

If helping her enjoy herself isn’t enough of an incentive to stay intimate after the act – do it for selfish reasons.
