How Lagos Prophet Lost Church's N1.8m to Suspected Conman in Lagos

A Nigerian prophet has lost as much as N1.8 million to a suspected conman in a Lagos State community, leaving members flustered.

The many members of the Liberation Embassy Incorporated Church a.k.a Ghosters Chapel at Festac town in Lagos State have been thrown into shock after the church lost N1.8m entrusted to their spiritual leader, Prophet Lenke Fire to suspected conman.
 
According to a report by P. M. Express, the incident happened at 3rd Avenue, H Close at Festac town where the church is located and transaction took place. The suspect, David Nwagbosama has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for the alleged fraud and was remanded in prison custody.
 
It was gathered that prophet Fire was defrauded of the said amount after he gave the money to  Nwagbosama David for undisclosed transaction. But it turned out that the transaction was a scam. It was learnt that after the suspect obtained the money from him and vanished without fulfilling his own side of the bargain.
 
P. M. Express also gathered that when Nwagbosama was contacted, instead of refunding the money, he reportedly started threatening the Prophet and the church.
 
The matter was reported to the police and Nwagbosama was arrested and charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for obtaining and stealing under the Criminal Code.
 
He pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs B.O.Osunsanmi granted Nwagbosama bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
 
The matter was adjourned till 2nd of November, 2017.
 
P. M. Express reports that the scam was still a surprise to some members who were still  wondering how Nwagbosama succeeded in obtaining the money from the prophet.
 
While some of other members warned that he may attract the wrath of God because it was church’s money and not that of the prophet which will surely have consequences.
