In the 21st century, one would be shocked that there are schools built with straws, reeds, and leaves like this one discovered in the northern part of Nigeria.

Disturbing pictures of Tsakuma Primary School, Education Authority in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State have been circulated on social media.

The state of the school built like a hamlet mirrors the depleting state of formal education in Nigeria.

The school could be mistaken for an ancient farmstead where farmers keep their tools and cool off after a hard day's job.

As seen in the photos, the school visibly lacks the necessary facilities that define an 'Education Authority' as stipulated on the school's signboard.
