Governor Emeka Ihedioha has reacted to the widespread speculations that he is behind the sealing of Okorocha's schools.
Rochas Okorocha
According to a report by Punch Metro, the governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha, has denied the rumour that he was the brain behind the sealing of Rochas Foundation College, Owerri, East High Primary and Secondary schools, Owerri and All-In Supermarket by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission.
The schools and investments which belonged to the immediate past governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, and members of his family were sealed by the operatives of the anti-graft agency.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Chibuike Onyeukwu, told The PUNCH on Wednesday that there was no truth in the allegation that Ihedioha was behind the sealing of the assets which are traceable to his predecessor.
According to the governor, it was a pure fallacy that he sponsored petitions to the EFCC against Okorocha which resulted in the sealing of the assets.
Onyeukwu said, “The governor has no hand in the sealing of Okorocha investments by the EFCC. For the records, the EFCC had already started its investigations against Rochas Okorocha before this administration came on board on May 29.
“There is no truth that the governor is witch-hunting Rochas Okorocha. They should show proves that the governor is doing so. The governor can’t deviate from his core mandate of rebuilding the state to witch-hunting anybody including Rochas Okorocha.
” If there is any witch-hunt it is his misgovernance of the state that is witch-hunting him. The governor is focused and determined on rebuilding the state.”
