Panic As Gunmen Kidnap Engineer, Injure Cleric in Bayelsa

Residents of Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the state were on Monady sent into panic as gunmen stormed the community and kidnapped one Mr Duncan Eke, an engineer.
The Bayelsa State Police Command, confirmed the abduction.
DSP Asinim Butswat, the command’s Public Relations Officer, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yenagoa that unknown gunmen abducted Eke on January 24 at 12:40 p.m. at Igbedi in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.
"On January 24, 2016 at about 12.40 p.m., unknown gunmen abducted one Engineer Dunkan Eke at Igbedi Community in Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA.
"The abductors also shot and injured one Reverend Ezekiel Obata; the injured victim is responding to treatment at a clinic in Polaku," the command’s spokesman said.
He said efforts had been intensified to rescue the victim and arrest the abductors.
