Bisola Aiyeola, the Nollywood actress, has stepped into the world of beauty as she launches her skincare line, Brown Girl’s Magic (BGM).
The actress and reality TV show host used the opportunity to open up on how she wasn’t bothered about skin care until 2018.
On her inspiration for delving into the skincare business, Aiyeola said she conceived the idea in November 2018.
“Prior to that, I was really crazy about skincare. I could use Ori (shea butter), Vaseline, or groundnut oil to rub my body. But when I booked a consultation at an aesthetic clinic, my orientation about skincare routines changed for good.
“One day, I just thought that we don’t really have skincare body products that contain SPF. We mostly have the ones that are just for the face, and I said, maybe I should come up with something like that. So, I had to partner with an aesthetician and formulator who gave me a budget to work with in 2020, and the rest is now history.”
The latest collection includes aqua-surge revitalising body wash, aqua-surge illumine body lotion with SPF, aqua-surge micellar water, and ultra-shield SPF.
The launch was witnessed by an array of dignitaries and celebrities that include ex-First Lady of Lagos State, Abimbola Fashola, BBNaija ex-housemate Dorothy, Efe Money, Omowumi Dada, and others.
According to the former BBNaija housemate, the new range of beauty products is meant to provide good and healthy skin for everyone, especially people of African descent.
“There’s magic in all of us. We believe in celebrating you and helping you enhance that magic within you. Let’s be proud of our brown skin,” she said.
She added that the BGM was launched to fill the missing gap in the skincare sector and make affordable luxury skin care accessible to everyone, saying, “Our brand aims to redefine skincare so that it is not just aspirational but a core part of your well-being.”
