Dipo stated that he was paid N10,000 by the government and N22,500 by Wema Bank, where he completed his NYSC.
A Nigerian man has narrated how his life changed after he moved to the United Kingdom.
Dipo Awojide narrated that after his NYSC, he earned N32,500 in Nigeria.
He said he was paid N10,000 by the government and N22,500 by Wema Bank, where he completed his NYSC.
However, he remained in his own country to finish the NYSC and gather experience before heading abroad for further studies and work.
Now, he earns huge sums of money.
According to him, he earned £15,000 (N18 million) in 2011 and £33,000 (N40 million) in 2015 after completing his PhD in the United Kingdom.
He wrote on X:
"In 2009 during my NYSC, I earned N22,500 from Wema Bank plus N10,000 from the federal government. It was enough money for me to flex and do omo boy in Abuja.
Few years down the line, my income improved exponentially. At some point in 2011, I got offered around £15,000, then £33,000 after completing my PhD in 2015.
Now to the main point - If you get a job paying N100K in Lagos or Abuja after NYSC please take it if you don’t currently have a better option. Start from somewhere, gain real life experience, develop fantastic employability skills and brand yourself excellently.
After a while, aim higher and apply for better jobs. Don’t get stuck. Don’t wait forever doing nothing. Make sure you are earning and learning, constantly!"
