This Is The Most Brazing Lack of Care For Nigerian People– Adeyanju Slams Tinubu Over Purchase of Presidential Jet

Posted by Thandiubani on Thu 22nd Aug, 2024 - tori.ng

Adeyanju was reacting to the controversy surrounding the purchase of new presidential jet for Tinubu.

Nigerian activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has continued to slam President Bola Tinubu.

He wondered why the president would splash a whopping N150 billion on a new jet when the one he’s replacing is still almost new.

Speaking with Arise News, Adeyanju said: “From where we are standing, we have not seen any sign of goodwill from the government, the most brazing of lack of care for the Nigerian people is the presidential jet he just launched, whooping N150 billion. The jet he replaced is still almost new.

“The US Presidential jet is almost 50 years old, the British Prime Minister is still flying commercial. When it comes to cost of governance, the US President pays for everything he eats in the White House. The convoy of the Nigerian President is enough to get him impeached if things were working in this country.”

He further noted: “The amount of resources the government put into stopping this protest, imagine we put that same resource into fixing this country.

“We never knew that we had this type of security mobilisation in the country until the EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest. This means we can tackle the issue of insecurity in the country if we want.

“This means that some people do not want insecurity to be solved. In the FCT, police said they deployed over 4000 officers; just imagine what these amount of officers will do in Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi.

“It would have prevented the death of the Emir of Sokoto. An Emir was abducted, displayed by bandits, and killed, in a country where we have a government.

“In this same country, 1,400 protesters have been arrested by the protester-in-chief, who has always been protesting and a chief critic of others. These are people who called a sitting president a kindergarten president and all sorts of names. It’s now their turn to receive protest, but protesters must meet the government, have an identified leader, and converge at a particular location.”
