Two Nigerian have been taken into custody in Libya for alleged kidnapping and attempted extortion in Sabha, Libya.
This was made public by Migrant Rescue Watch, an advocacy group, in a statement on Sunday, December 29, 2024.
The statement disclosed that the suspects were arrested for allegedly kidnapping an African girl.
“Al-Qahira Police Department arrested 2 undocumented migrants of Nigerian nationality responsible for kidnapping of an African girl and attempted extortion. Police during op successfully freed the victim and apprehended the perpetrators. Both accused were referred to public prosecution for legal action,” the statement read.
