Nigerians Complain Bitterly as Petrol Stations Sell Above N145

Some heartless owners of petrol stations have been found shortchanging Nigerians by adjusting their metres and selling above approved price as more Nigerians complain and groan.

 
Nigerians have complained of the frustration and suffering they are undergoing since the introduction of N145 petrol price. Some residents of Osun have also witnessed another form of wickedness in the hands of greedy petrol stations who have continued to sell above N145 thereby increasing the suffering of the masses.
 
As a result, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun, raided five fuel service stations and sealed it off for hoarding, gross under dispensing and selling above 145 Naira per litre.
 
According to Channels Television, a delegation from the DPR is in Osun State who came to ascertain the level of compliance of the fuel station owners in the state to the directive and also to ensure that they are dispensing accurately discovered that some of the petrol stations were hoarding fuel and selling above pump prices of N145 per litre. 
 
In company of the Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Ayodele Phillips and other officials, the team moved from one fuel station to another.
 
When they arrived at the Oduwoye and Brothers ‎fuel station, although 145 Naira was boldly written on the pump, they were actually selling at 150 Naira. Because of that, the station was sealed off and the team moved to Azkol fuel station at Igbona.
 
To their surprise, they discovered that they were grossly under dispensing to the customers. The manager, Adesoye Muritala, claimed it was the first time it was happening, but his excuse was not enough to stop the DPR from sealing the station.
 
Channels Television reports that on arrived at another Oduwoye and Brothers fuel station at Igbona, the attendants had fled their duty posts but after a thorough search by the Civil Defence men, they were found hiding in the toilet.
 
Although the ‎leader of the DPR delegation refused to speak to reporters, the Commandant of the NSCDC said the check would be carried out regularly to regulate the PMS marketers and keep them in check. The DPR has promised to continue the check to prevent Nigerians from suffering too much as a result of the price hike.
