A cat has become an internet sensation after photos showing its dancing skills emerged online and warmed people's hearts.
Cats that rise to fame on social media usually win followers for their adorable appearance or amusing facial expressions.
But Mirko, a cat from Japan, has won a legion of fans for his impressive ballet skills.
The fluffy white feline, who can be found on Twitter under the handle @Ccchisa76, is often photographed dancing and prancing his way around the family home - often striking the perfect plié or carrying out a poised pirouette.
Mirko's owner Chisa, 39, regularly post snaps of his beloved cat in ballerina-style poses on Twitter.
The cat boasts a whopping 39,400 followers and the account is regularly flooded with comments praising the cat for his elegant and poised photographs.
The photos show the cat flying through the air with his arms and legs perfectly positioned by his side, jumping and lifting his arms up and a number of poses reminiscent of first and second position.
But not all is as it seems, with Chisa admitting the pictures are captured as the result of perfect timing and a lot trial and error.
Instead of Mirko pulling the poses himself, Chisa spends time throwing the cat's favourite toys up in the air and along the floor.
As the cat chases them around the room, Chisa then attempts to capture snap of him in action, ideally, while mid flight.
His cat siblings, Tide, Peach and Leon, are far from impressed by their brother's skills and are featured in photos lazing around as Mirko prances about around them.
And while the other cats occasionally try to join in, it is Mirko's graceful moves that keep his fans coming back for more.
