Military personnel operating under Operation Hadin Kai have taken into custody a suspected informant allegedly providing intelligence support to armed insurgent groups in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The individual, identified as Alhaji Sule Bako, was apprehended at approximately 11:40 a.m. on August 5, 2026, in Dzangola Kilba following intelligence assessments that linked him to purported information-sharing arrangements benefitting militant elements functioning within the region.
According to a security analyst, operatives assigned to the 232 Battalion (Tactical) conducted the detention under Operation Desert Sanity V, a component of the broader counter-insurgency effort underway in the North-East zone.
The suspect was secured without resistance and remains in military custody, currently subjected to preliminary questioning and investigative procedures designed to establish the scope and depth of his alleged participation in militant networks.
