Adamawa Road Project Pressure Mounts on FG to Finish What It Started Before 2027

Adamawa APC elders from the Northern Zone have thanked contractor AG Vision for a good job on the first part of the Yola-Mubi road.

They now want the Federal Government to give out the second part before the 2027 elections.

Group spokesman Mohammed Abubakar spoke to journalists in Mubi on Monday.

He said the first phase is done and the road matters a lot to northern Adamawa because it connects Nigeria to Cameroon and passes through Mubi, the main trading town in the state.

He believes finishing it early will help the party and silence the opposition.

He also thanked President Bola Tinubu for pushing the first phase to completion and asked Works Minister David Umahi to award the next phase.

He asked National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu to help make it happen too.

Abubakar said the road will boost trade between the two countries and help soldiers and other security agents respond quickly to attacks from insurgents, bandits and kidnappers.

He pointed to weekly attacks in Madagali, Hong and Gombi because they sit close to Sambisa Forest.

Some commercial drivers also praised the finished stretch.

One of them, Alhaji Saidu Umar, said the new road is wider and thicker than the old one and that drivers are happy with the work.

Abubakar claimed some people are trying to sabotage the project for selfish political reasons.

He also claimed some top APC members in the state are secretly working for other parties and are not backing Tinubu or governorship candidate Alhaji Tijani Galadima, but said the party will surprise them in 2027.

Reports show AG Vision finished the first 52-kilometre phase some months ago and is now waiting for the award of the second and final phase.
