Bauchi Woman Arrested After Co-Wife Dies in Shocking Home Incident

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 33-year-old Hauwa’u Haruna for allegedly killing her co-wife, Jamila Adamu, at their home in Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate, Bauchi.
According to command spokesperson SP Nafiu Habib, officers responded to a report on Sunday afternoon and found that Haruna, allegedly acting under hallucinations, struck 43-year-old Adamu on the forehead with a pestle.
The victim lost consciousness, was rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Bauchi, and was pronounced dead by doctors.
Police have recovered the pestle used in the attack and arrested the suspect.
Bauchi State Commissioner of Police Aliyu Sani-Omolori has transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
While expressing condolences to the victim's family, the police chief warned against domestic violence and urged families to seek medical and psychosocial help for relatives struggling with mental health issues.
