Catholic priest and founder of the Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, AMEN, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has described Nigeria's challenges as spiritual.
He said the country's youths should not be blamed for supporting the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Mbaka spoke in a video recorded during one of his church programmes.
He said Nigeria has plenty of human and natural resources but has failed to turn that wealth into a better life for its people.
According to him, the country's case is a spiritual one that people may not fully understand.
The cleric called Nigeria one of the most blessed nations on earth, saying it has the best youths even though their potential has largely gone unnoticed.
He added that the country has gold, coal and other minerals, yet many Nigerians still live in poverty and lack steady electricity.
He said Enugu sits on coal worth multiple trillions of dollars, but the people of the city are poor.
Mbaka also criticised past and present governments over policies that hurt poor Nigerians, including the demolition of shops and land disputes.
He linked the country's insecurity, including kidnapping, to politics.
He said Nigerian youths are hardworking by nature and should not be blamed for rallying behind Obi.
In his words, they are simply looking for someone who will save them.
