Fake Doctor Arrested After 7 Years Of Secret Hospital Operations In Ibadan

Oyo State Police Command has arrested 45-year-old Adeniyi Benjamin for allegedly pretending to be a medical doctor and running an unlicensed clinic in the Olodo area of Ibadan.

He was picked up on October 2, 2026 at about 3:00pm by officers of the Command Monitoring Unit at his facility, Life Is Good Hospital, after police got intelligence about his activities.

Police spokesman DSP Ayanlade Olayinka said the suspect was caught treating patients and giving fertility treatments even though he has no medical qualifications.

Officers recovered two weighing scales, four Quantum Magnetic Resonance Body Analysers, a stethoscope, specimen bottles and a carton of assorted drugs from the place.

Police said he admitted during questioning that he has been working as a quack for about seven years without being a doctor or holding any licence.

He also said he specialises in fertility treatment and has been treating patients at the facility.

Police warned that his activities put many unsuspecting people at serious risk, especially those looking for fertility treatment.

The command urged residents to check the qualifications and registration of any medical practitioner before taking treatment from them.

Investigations are still going on to find out how far his activities went and to identify possible accomplices.

He will be charged to court once the investigation is done.
