Even in death, Fela Kuti is still held in awe for his musical ingenuity as the United States Congress has issued a certificate of congressional recognition to the late Afrobeat music genre founder.
The U.S Congress has issued the family of late Fela Kuti a Certificate of Congressional Recognition in appreciation of the legendary singer's 'musical gift', which it says has been an 'outlet for many'.
His son, Seun Kuti, shared the good news on his Instagram page.
"Nigerian house of assembly, over to you!! #lifeondroad. We are truly humbled. We thank the city of Houston and the United States congress. Special thanks to everyone in Houston who made it happen and congress woman Jackson", he captioned a photo of the certificate.
The late Fela was the pioneer of Afrobeat music genre. He died on August 2, 1997 at the age of 59
