A crowd who gathered outside court premises left the former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shehu Shema in shame as they called him a thief.

who could not hold back his tears at the premises of the state High Court, following his re-arrest by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for allegedly stealing N11 billion during his tenure as Governor was disgraced at the court premises as people shouted and called him 'barawo' 'barawo' meaning 'thief, thief.'
Shema is being charged alongside three others, Sani Hamisu Makana, Lawal Ahmad Safana and Ibrahim Lawal Dankaba before Justice Maikaita Bako of the Katsina State High Court for the alleged offences of criminal breach of trust, abuse of office and conversion of public funds to the tune of over N11bn during his tenure as governor. He was taken to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
