Family and friends have been left grieving after a Muslim girl has been murdered and left in a pond after leaving evening prayers.

Nabra Hassanen, a 17-year-old Muslim girl has been found dead after she was allegedly beaten and murdered after leaving her mosque.
According to Metro UK, the teenager was with friends at a restaurant after breaking her fast during Ramadan.
As they left and walked away, they were reportedly confronted by a driver in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The girl was allegedly assaulted, with her body found in a pond nearby. A baseball bat was also recovered in Herndon, Virginia.
‘I think it had to do with the way she was dressed and the fact that she’s Muslim,’ her mother Sawsan Gazzar told the Washington Post.
Darwin Martinez Torres
Darwin Martinez Torres, 22, has been arrested and charged with murder. Police have not released what they say is the suspected motive however they said there was ‘no indication’ it was a hate crime.
The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (Adams) had told the group of girls to go inside the building, but Nabra somehow became separated from them, it was claimed.
A fundraising page has reached over £100,000 to support Nabra’s family following the attack.
The attack was reported the day before a ‘terror attack’ outside a mosque in Finsbury Park, North London.
A man has been arrested after he allegedly drove a white van into a crowd of Muslims who were gathered trying to help a man being given first aid.
Prime Minister Theresa May said she ‘condemned this act’ and wanted ‘to state once again that hatred and evil of this kind will never succeed.’
