262 Stranded Nigerians in Libya Return to Nigeria as Move to Europe Stalls (Photos)

A total of 262 Nigerian including men, women and children who have been stranded and disappointed in Libya after they failed to make their way to Europe, have returned to the country.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have received 262 stranded Nigerians in Libya who voluntarily returned to Nigeria through the humanitarian services of the International Organisation for Migration at the Hajj Camp, Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. 
 
 
The Director General of NEMA, Engr. Mustapha Maihajja who was represented by the Southwest Zonal Coordinator of the Agency, Alh. Suleiman Yakubu admonished the Returnees to stay back and utilise the available resources abound in the country.
 
 
Other Agencies that participated in the exercise are NAPTIP, DSS, Nigeria Police, Immigration Services, FAAN,, Nigerian AirForce and others. 
 
On arrival, IOM gave the each Returnees the sum of 18,000 Naira and NEMA supported them with the sum of 7,000 to ease their transportation to their respective destination and settle down in the community.
