Ekiti state was in the news yesterday night following the appearance of a former People's Democratic Party member on Television opening a can of worms as regards how Governor Fayose cut corners to emerge as Governor in the state.

The expelled National Publicity secretary of the People's Democratic Party, Tope Aluko narrated how Governor Fayose of Ekiti rigged his way into power in Ekiti state with the involvement of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who released slush funds from the Office of the National Security Adviser as well as reportedly authorised security operatives to assist in arresting and intimidating his political opponents on election day in the state.

Nigerians are in shock right now and as one twitter user said, "Buhari should declare a public holiday to let Nigerians recover"

The hashtag #EkitiGate is trending since the Channels TV interview with Tope Aluko during which he opened a can of worms on the controversies surrounding the Ekiti gubernatorial election. He also made an online publication with hard evidences to support his claims.
