The former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has finally spoken on reports that emerged last Saturday, detailing how he spent the sum of N78 million for the upgrade of his personal website.

According to a budget report on the website of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (LSPPA), the contract was awarded to Info Access Plus Limited.

After the report was trailed by a lot of mixed reactions, Fashola in a statement on Thursday night, denied the allegation and compared his accusers with pigs who get 'happy' when they get you 'dirty.'

The former governor said only N12 million was actually awarded for the upgrade of the site while other services such as the handover countdown clock, mobile apps for Google, for iOS ipad, for Microsoft, and Blackberry and the annual maintenance cost for managing the site make up the total of N78 million.

Since rumours began to spread that Fashola’s name may have been penciled down to be appointed minister by President Buhari, the former governor has come under heavy scrutiny. Some reports even suggest that he fathered a set of twins outside wedlock.

On the issue of extra marital paternity, he said he only adopted three children who were orphaned by the Dana crash of 2012, stating that he went through due process. He also denied any involvement in the national assembly leadership elections, and said all the loans he took as Lagos governor went through due process and they are being repaid.
