Tribalism, Nepotism & More: What Nigerians Are Saying On Buhari's Appointment Of New DG Of DSS

 

 

Nigerians have taken to various social media platforms to express their individual opinions following the appointment of Yusuf Magaji Bichi as the new Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS) by President Muhamamdu Buhari, on Thursday.

 

In a statement released last night, Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, certified Bichi as one who can do the job professionally. “The new DSS boss comes to the job with skills in intelligence gathering, research analysis, conflict management, general investigation, risk and vulnerability operations, counter intelligence and protective operation and human resources management”, he said.

 

But reacting over the appointment approved by President Buhari, the senator representing Bayelsa East constituency, Ben Murray-Bruce, a 2019 presidential aspirant, Donald Duke, rights activists, Adeyanju Deji, Chidi Odinkalu, and other Nigerisna criticized the appointment, noting that the principles of federal character was not honored.

If you disagree with such illustrious bodies, all you need to do is give reasons why they are wrong. You dont castigate them. The Economist endorsed @MBuhari in 2015, were they unreasonable then?"

He retired aftr 35 yrs of service in 2017 as Daura's Finance & Admin Director but was retained by Lawal Daura for few months & then released Feb 2018.
