The Senate has postponed its sitting till next week Tuesday as members are on oversight duties across the country.

At the plenary sitting on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, which began at some minutes before 11am, Senator Philip Aduda cited Order 10 and moved the motion for adjournment of the plenary.

Aduda premised his motion on the fact that 38 senators must be present to form a quorum, and at the sitting today, less than 10 senators were present.

The motion was seconded by Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, but he observed that the members present were not less than 10 but less than 20.

Speaking on the point of order raised, Senate President Bukola Saraki said: "This is in line with Order 10:3; if we do not have quorum, we need to adjourn".

He also urged senators currently on oversight function to try to complete all duties before the end of the week.

Staff and students of schools in Abuja were present at the National Assembly to observe the proceedings.

The plenary sitting was adjourned till Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
