UPDATE! Photos from the Police Headquarters Bomb Explosion Today in Yola

A bomb explosion rocked the Jimeta Divisional Police Headquarters, in Yola, Adamawa state this morning.

 

Eyewitnesses say the explosion happened at about 11am.

 

Residents around the area were thrown into confusion about the attack. According to Channels TV, one person died in the explosion and pupils of a nearby Majalisa Primary School close to the accident scene scampered for safety.

 

Reports have it that the explosion is not linked to any terrorist act by Boko Haram, but an accident from the armoury of the police station.

 

Efforts are currently being made by security operatives to ameliorate the situation to prevent further damage.
