Aides to Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Oba of Elegushi have denied having any affiliation with Sam Larry and Naira Marley.
Both men have been accused of having a hand in the death of singer, Mohbad.
The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin made the revelation during an interview on Monday.
Following Mohbad’s death last Tuesday, September 12, photos of Sam Larry and Naira Marley with the governor and the monarch surfaced online.
In a petition he wrote to the police in June, late Mohbad had stated that Sam Larry assaulted him and claimed he works with Oba Elegushi, so nothing would happen to him for assaulting the singer.
The monarch has since released a statement distancing himself from Sam Larry.
On Saturday, September 16, Tonto Dikeh via her Instageam page called out Governor Sanwo-Olu and demanded that he comes out to clarify his association with Sam Larry and Naira Marley. According to her, there are reports that both men work for the governor. Read here.

‘’On Friday, I received a call from one of the Special Advisers to the governor and he was telling me ‘Mr Ben, that we do not know him. Don’t even have the idea that he is our boy. We do not know him. He disowned this particular name that has been all over the media and the governor too calling. I can say this that Oba Elegushi called to say see ‘I do not know this person. Go ahead and do your investigation’'
On the police investigation into the death, Hundeyin said
‘’We have a list of names, suspects and we have begun locating them. We have started gathering information and we are also reaching out to people''
