Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia state has vowed to restore the pride of the judiciary in the state.
This comes after he gifted five SUVs to judges in the state during a brief ceremony held at the High Court Complex in Umuahia.
The governor, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, expressed his commitment to ensuring justice and the rule of law in the state.
He added that those who carry out this task should have the best working environment to perform their duties.
He noted that he has not hidden his respect for the judiciary and rule of law and commended the cordial relationship that exists between the executive and judicial arms of government.
Upon receiving the papers and keys of the vehicles, the Chief Judge of Abia State, Justice Lilian Abai, acknowledged that Governor Alex Otti has proven himself to be a judiciary-friendly governor since taking office.
He thanked the governor for providing the vehicles for the judges, adding that she looked forward to a better working relationship with the executive.
During the vote of thanks, Justice Okezie Enyinnaya expressed gratitude on behalf of his fellow beneficiaries and thanked the Governor for the kind gesture towards him and his Brother Judges.
He pledged that they would make judicious use of the vehicles and continue to perform their duties without fear or favour.
