Emmanuel Daniel
Mrs, Eberechi Daniel, the widow of the e-hailing taxi driver, Emmanuel Daniel, who was allegedly killed by passengers along Olu Obasanjo road in D/Line Port Harcourt, is seeking justice.
She called on the government to find those responsible for his death so they could face the wrath of the law.
The mother of three children told BBC that her husband had just installed a tracker in the car he uses for Bolt when the incident happened.
According to Eberechi, her late husband had made mistakes in the installation of the tracker and had gone to correct the mistake, when he picked some passengers on his way back.
She said, she was called to come to the Military hospital around 7pm, and was directed to go to Rivers State Teaching Hospital.
She said, “When I got to the hospital, I asked about my husband. They said they will show me where he was, but after everything, they told me that he was dead. He was shot by armed robbers who hijacked the car afterwards, but because of the tracker, the car stopped along the road. The passengers, he carried were the ones who shot him around D-line area.”
I want the government to help me find the people who shot my husband. Let them avenge his death for me and my three children,” she pleaded.
The car was later discovered, abandoned at the Craft Centre area of D-line, Port Harcourt.
She added that the family are preparing to carry the corpse of her late husband to his village in Anambra State for proper burial.
