On Saturday, a purported ballot box snatcher in the Anyigba Local Government Area of Kogi State was shot dead as security forces intervened to prevent his attempt to disrupt the off-season election.
The identity of the deceased and the political party he purportedly worked for remained unconfirmed at the time of this report.

The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) reported the incident on its official account, stating that the alleged leading political party thug was shot in an attempt to disrupt the election by snatching the ballot box in Anyigba LGA, Kogi State.
