Muhammad Fatima Ruqqayat, a female student of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria, who was abducted about two months ago by terrorists, has regained freedom after a ransom was paid.

The family of the student confirmed that she was released on Sunday after being held captive for more than 45 days.

The terrorists demanded over N4 million from the family and the school management before releasing her, Naija News reported.

The assailants were said to have stormed the school environment and invaded the students’ private lodge along Moriamoh Ajiri School at Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, where they whisked away at least five female students of the university dwelling in the area.
