Fashola has come under heavy criticisms as a result of his assumed ineffective approach to the power sector which is one of the lifelines of the Nigerian economy since he was appointed as the Minister in charge.

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has come under intense attack by some Nigerians following the continued power outage being experienced across the country.
Yesterday, power generation made history in the entire world by
hitting an all time low of ZERO megawatts for some hours meaning there was no power generation at all leading to a national blackout.
Power generation which had last month peaked at over 5,000 megawatts has dropped around 2,000 megawatts, thereby plunging homes and offices into darkness. This is miles away from the 25,000 megawatts benchmark needed by the government to fully illuminate a country over 170 million people.
Fashola's regime has also initiated the increment of 45% in electricity tariffs meaning the Nigerian masses will by paying exceedingly more for a service they don't enjoy according to reactions on the social media.
The former governor of Lagos state has reiterated his desire to revamp the power sector and in this piece, are screenshots of various statements credited to him.
