Seven members of a notorious armed robbery gang causing havoc in the Kano-Katsina States axis have been rounded up by the police.
Spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed their arrest in a statement issued to DAILY POST.
He said this followed the launch of a manhunt for criminals by the state Commissioner of Police, CP. Mohammed Gumel, to mop out criminals in the state.
He said police succeeded in the arrest of the mastermind of several armed robbery cases, 27-year-old Ibrahim Rabiu of KwanarUngogo Quarters, and seven of his compatriots.
He said during the operation, the following exhibits were recovered: two unregistered motorcycles, three Papalow swords, four cutlasses, five parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 135 pieces of exol tablets, 10 sachets of Diazepam tablets, 150 pieces of rubber solution and 27 potwin injections.
Kiyawa said the suspects would be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.
