A teenager, identified as Salamatu Yunusa, has been killed in Abuja.
She was tragically stabbed to death by a co-tenant in Byazhin, Kubwa, situated in the Bwari Local Government Area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The incident happened on Tuesday at about 4:30 pm.
SaharaReporters gathered that the deceased person was stabbed to death during a fight with her co-tenant, identified as Immaculate Chukwudi.
A community source told SaharaReporters that the duo were fighting over the claim that Immaculate’s seven-year-old child had spat into a bowl of water stored outside their house.
"Salamatu accused Immaculate's son David Ikebuahu who is seven years old of spitting into a bowl of water she stored outside.
"While fighting, Immaculate went into her room, took a knife and stabbed Salamatu in the chest and she sustained a serious injury.
"The police came and rushed her to Kubwa General Hospital for medical attention, where the doctor on duty confirmed her dead," the source said.
The FCT Police Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Wednesday.
She said that an investigation into the tragic incident was in progress.
"The suspect is in our custody; the case will be transferred to CID for further investigation," she added.
