Terrorists are reportedly wreaking havoc in multiple communities along the border areas of Nigeria, using these regions as hubs for smuggling arms and other goods into neighboring countries.
According to a post on X made on Tuesday by Makama Zagozola, a security expert in Lake Chad, the merchants who traded with these terrorists also passed through a border town of Gamboru Ngala in Borno State.
He noted that the residents and other terrorist merchants are smuggling arms, fuel loaded in sacks, food items, and other logistics to ISWAP terrorists.
He continued, “These items are going straight to the town of WULGO before they will be dispatched to Kwalaram and other parts of the Tumbuns for the ISWAP terrorists.
“It has been observed that the terrorist groups have continued to exploit gaps around Nigeria’s borders with Cameroon, Niger Republic and Chad. These border towns sustain illegal cross-border activities related to terrorism and terrorist financing (TF).”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army said weeks ago that its troops, acting on credible intelligence, laid an ambush on a group of terrorists known for using motorbikes to carry out nefarious activities in Kaduna State and other parts of the Northern region, killing three and recovering arms.
The operation had also led to the recovery of one AK-47 Rifle, one stock AK-47 Rifle, four motorbikes, and one Motorola Radio.
