Chidinma Adetshina, a 23-year-old former Miss South Africa contestant, has revealed her interest to win the crown of Miss Universe Nigeria.
She made this known in an interview with News Live SA on Thursday.
She said it’s been more than 20 years since she has been to Nigeria, and that she finds the country's culture to be fascinating.
"I'm just really excited to be here in my father's land, and I want to learn more about it," she remarked.
Adetshina also urged people to take lessons from her experience and be open to accepting people from all cultural backgrounds.
She declared that she is prepared to accept her differences and will make every effort to meld the two cultures, fit in, and enjoy herself to the fullest.
“My goal is obviosuly to win the crown for Miss Universe Nigeria. As a woman who has faced diversity, I want to use my story to bring people together. I want us to celebrate our differences, by that way we can build a stronger community.”
Adetshina is expected to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant.
She was asked to compete in the pageantry after she withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition due to strong criticism about her nationality.
