Nigeria's number one man, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), on her 62nd birthday, commending her commitment to fostering a better Nigeria.
President Tinubu’s birthday message to the broadcaster-turned-politician was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Dabiri-Erewa’s illustrious career in public service began as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where she anchored the weekly NTA Newsline programme with flair and credibility, earning her a household name among millions of Nigerians.
Her contributions extend beyond the newsroom, particularly in bridging the gap between Nigeria and its diaspora.
The President commended Dabiri-Erewa’s exemplary service in various roles, including Member of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs, and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.
Her tireless efforts to protect Nigerian migrants’ rights and facilitate investment and business opportunities between Nigeria and the Diaspora have been notable.

“The President notes that millions of Nigerians who watched her in this role saw her as a household name. Her contributions to the nation, particularly in her efforts to bridge the gap between Nigeria and its diaspora, have extended far beyond the newsroom, making us all proud and appreciative of her work.
“President Tinubu commends Dabiri-Erewa for her exemplary service in various capacities, including as a Member of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, and as the pioneer Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM.
