FG Opens New Technical College in Enugu With Free Tuition, Uniforms and Meals

The Federal Government has launched the newly established Federal Technical College in Eke, Enugu State, with academic activities kicking off immediately.

 

This move forms part of President Bola Tinubu’s push to build a skilled technical workforce to drive the country's industrial and technological growth.

Speaking to pioneer students and parents on Monday, the school principal, Mr. Gideon Angbeye, explained that the institution aims to bridge Nigeria's skill gap.

 

He revealed that the government is fully funding the initial intake, covering all tuition fees, school uniforms, and daily meals provided through the Ministry of Education under Dr. Maruf Alausa.

The college runs a three-year practical curriculum: TVET 1 introduces students to basic theory and technical principles, TVET 2 shifts into full-time hands-on workshop training, and TVET 3 combines advanced practical work with academic theory.

 

To ensure top-quality education, the school is partnering with major industrial research bodies, including the Projects Development Institute and the Scientific Equipment Development Institute.

 

The principal urged students to make the most of the free program and thanked the host community of Eke for its warm reception and support.
