They Said It Would Scare Men Away - Nigerian Lady Recalls Time She Was Discouraged From Renting 2 bedroom Flat And Buying A Car

A Nigerian businesswoman, Anthonia Umerah has recounted how she was discouraged by acquaintances from renting a 2 bedroom apartment and buying a car.

According to them, it would reduce her chances of getting married.

She stated that she ignored the advice and rented the apartment because she wanted to expand her business.

She urged women to live their lives and stop seeking male validation.
 
“When I wanted to rent the 2bedroom flat I live in, few acquaintances tried to discourage me from renting the 2bedroom house because according to them, I am a single lady and 2bedroom flat is too much for a single single lady. One told me living in 2bedroom house will scare men away from me. lol,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
     
''I ignored all of them and still rented the 2bedroom house because I had so much plans and intentions to expand my business and for me to achieve the expansion I need, I need enough space to be storing my products.
     
Fast forward to now, my visitors room, my walkways and my dinning area is filled up with goods!
     
In life, have a mind of yourself! I don’t know why people make every conversation about a single woman revolve around male validation.
     
One also told me that when I wanted to buy my first car. She told me not to buy a car because men will run from me. Lol. I have been driving for 2yrs now, if I tell you the things and comfort my car has helped me to achieve ehh? I function better when I am comfortable. Dear lord, I am grateful.''
