A Nigerian national identified as Ifechukwu David Madukwe has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for drug trafficking in India.

Madukwe was arrested after he was found with narcotic drugs worth Rs 50.9 lakh on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019, at Manshiwada-Korgao, Pernem, Goa.

Madukwe was booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985.

A Mapusa court in Goa, convicted and sentenced him on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
