Ghanaian Man Laments The Difficulty In Securing Nigerian Citizenship After Being Married To A Nigerian Woman For 10 Years

A Ghanaian man has taken to social media to express his frustration over the difficulty of obtaining Nigerian citizenship or permanent residency, despite being married to a Nigerian and residing in the country for the past ten years.

The man shared this while responding to a post of another Nigerian man who recounted how difficult it has been for one of his friends from another African country, who is married to a Nigerian woman and has lived with his family for over 15 years, to secure his Nigerian permanent residency or citizenship.

According to him, his friend has had to renew his passports over the years because the authorities would not grant him citizenship despite being married to a Nigerian. 

The Ghanaian man mentioned that he keeps getting harassed by police officers and even immigration officials.
