It was gathered that the man man was arrested in the Ipaja area of the state after a pistol was found on his wife.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this to newsmen, mentioned that the wife and another lady were stopped by the police for a stop and search. He said the search led to the discovery of the semi-automatic pistol.
‘’‘See these police officers harassing two ladies, insisting on searching their bags…’
That would have been the narrative.
After a cursory and non-intrusive look at the contents of their bags, this semi-automatic pistol was found in their possession by police officers of Ipaja Division.
One of the ladies led the police to the owner of the firearm - her husband. Case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
One less illegal firearm in circulation.
